I will stand at my watch post and station myself on the rampart; I will keep watch
to see what he will say to me and what he will answer me concerning my complaint.
Then the Lord answered me and said, "Write the vision, make it plain on tablets
so that a runner may read it. For there is still a vision for the appointed
time; it speaks of the end and does not lie. If it seems to tarry, wait for
it; it will surely come, it will not delay." (Habakkuk 21: 3)
We believe in the unity of the local church and the responsibility of every person
participating to promote oneness under the leadership of the congregation.
The input of every participating person is valued within the context of support
for the vision, values, and goals of the church.
We believe the church is the one divinely designed organism to supply people with
insight and support they need to achieve a full life.
We believe the Bible is the primary source by which God has expressed His instruction
for humanity about Himself and everything we need for guidance concerning the church
and community.
We believe the essence of the Christian life is to live out by grace the character
traits best exemplified by our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe it is our responsibility to reach out to those who have not experienced
God's grace with a credible witness of good news of repentance and faith in the
risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We also affirm that although human-kind
is sinful, because he/she was created in God's image, all people are to be treated
with dignity, respect, and love.
Mt Zion AME Zion Church takes a holistic approach to ministry such that in the name
of Jesus:
- Ministries will be available to meet the needs of every person. We believe
in worship as the privilege of entering the presence of God to adore Him and experience
His total interest in our lives.
- Effective Outreach will be in place and offered to all who care to listen or embrace. We believe in outreach as the spreading of the gospel from individual to individual, family to family, neighborhood to neighborhood, country to country, ethnic group to ethnic group, with the intention of kingdom building being the central focus.
- We will financially support God's work through tithes (treasure, time, and talent) and offerings.
- We will be strong in all areas of Christian Education, Evangelism, and Mission Work. We believe in instruction as the careful process of leading others to freely engage in the positive experience of discovery of truth and obedience to that truth.
Our goals are to present Christ in a contemporary, creative, credible and caring
way to all people in an environment where people from the community can grow to
their full potential in Christ through the ministries that are already in place
plus the implementation of new ministries.
